But this one is a great example of why “clean Carfax” can be such a joke. Both the mirrors are destroyed, and the bumper is coming off on one side.

It looks like new mirrors will run about $300 each for whoever buys it. I wish them luck.

Plus, wouldn’t the open recall mean it’s NOT a clean Carfax? It’s probably the Takata Claymore recall.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of those on the road

There was a four door in my neighborhood until a couple of months ago. I used to see a few when they were new. I always wondered if being somewhat unique in the US  led to a minor accident causing them to be totaled after a relatively minor wreck.

That’s what most folks seem to think.

Maybe, I saw a Kizashi today, and it’s my third.

I enjoyed those too. I probably would have considered buying one if they ever brought over the VXR/OP C hot hatch version that most of the world got.

240hp, Recaro interior, and a 6MT. Looks quite enjoyable.

I had fond memories of these until yesterday when and older man driving a blue astra with no exhaust called me a “fucking asshole”.

And that’s story time with SSFancyFresh

You could get them in a manual with a panoramic sunroof!

We had one at t he dealer once, but it had 200,000+ miles so it went to auction....

I knew they offered a manual, but I didn’t know they had a panoramic roof.

Years ago, while looking for my next convertible, I did a C arfax vin check for one particular car that came back as no accidents. For whatever reason, I ran the vin through Autocheck, which showed the car had been sold at a southwest auction as a frame damaged vehicle. The car had been totaled 5 weeks after it was sold, with just over 600 mil es on it.

I wonder what the buy back would have involved.

Wow, I’m glad you dodged a bullet on that one. That must’ve been a hell of an accident.

A coworker tried to convince buy it and go through the buy back, saying I could make money on it.

Who needs that headache? Certainly not me.

On the plus side, I eventually bought a Mustang GT that I made good money on.

Sadly to make money on it you’d have to be comfortable lying to folks about it having frame damage.

No, his thoughts were that the Carfax buy back gua rantee would some how allow me to profit from their error.

These cars share virtually no parts commonality with GM USA cars, save for that shitty 1.8L that was used in the lower trimmed Sonic and Cruze.

It’s the nicest Cobalt you can buy!

Those do have a sleek look, especially the 3 door ! It’s just sad that the engine in them isn’t exciting, it’s about as engaging as a Cobalt.
